Muslim children are severely underrepresented in German children's literature. Muslim children's books are often imported from abroad at a higher price and only in the respective national language.

Through “Oh Mama Du”, Muslim families have the opportunity to purchase inexpensive German children’s books and stationery items that deal with Islamic topics in a child-friendly way.

This helps ensure that German-Muslim children are better represented in the German literary landscape and can identify with the books more easily. The children's books also promote interculturality by being offered with workbooks in religious and ethics classes at primary schools.
